DECLARATION OF CITIZENSHIP

Danish citizenship can be obtained by applying to the State Administration if you meet a number of requirements and you:

 ·        are a citizen of one of the Nordic countries

·        or have previously had Danish citizenship

·        or if you on 18 December 2012 or later have been subject to the Danish Citizenship Act with a requirement for a release certificate without yet having been released from your other citizenship

If you wish to apply for Danish citizenship, but your situation is different to the three listed above, special rules apply.

If this is the case, you will be able to apply for Danish citizenship by naturalisation at the Citizenship Office which is a department under the Danish Ministry of Immigration and Integration: www.uim.dk/arbejdsomrader/statsborgerskab/ansogningsskemaer-1.



FEE

A fee of DKK 1,100 is payable when submitting a declaration to the State Administration. The State Administration will not begin processing your application until the fee has been received.

To pay a fee from abroad, you will need the following information:

IBAN: DK24 0216 4069 1753 92
BIC/SWIFT: DABADKKK

Please remember to state your Danish civil registration number (CPR no.) when making the payment. If you do not have a Danish civil registration number, you need to state your full name, nationality, date of birth and, if possible, your postal address. Otherwise we will not be able to link your payment to your declaration.
